Carbon Regulation is here, now. It is a big deal and it also is a major new market. Last year, more than $30 billion in carbon credits were traded, and that value is expected to skyrocket in ensuing years. Carbon regulation exists in 10 Northeast states and California, and is proposed to follow in an equal number of additional states. Congress has pending federal legislation that is supported by most of the Presidential candidates.
Carbon regulation will affect every sector of the economy, from the regulated entities to consumers who ultimately will see the significant price of carbon control reflected in the price of power and goods.
We are convening a Carbon Summit to analyze this brave new world of carbon regulation. We will explore the legal, policy, and practical dimensions of all aspects of changing carbon, power, and environmental regulation in the Northeast and at the national levels. What makes this Carbon Summit unique is that our distinguished panel includes experts from Wall Street, Academia, the practicing bar, and state regulatory agencies.
The Carbon Summit will prepare the legal and policy community for the new era of carbon regulation.
Attend and Learn:
- What the new carbon-regulated economy will look like
- About the science and legal barriers to carbon regulation in the Northeast
- What to expect for upcoming carbon litigation
- About the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative
- How utilities are changing
- What are Renewable energy and conservation opportunities for your clients
- The potential impact of the new Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) MEPA Greenhouse Gas Policy
