SUMMER STUDY : SWEDEN

 Lund_Classroom

The summer program in Lund offers a unique approach to the study of comparative and international law, providing an interactive experience both inside and outside the classroom.

The experience is enriched by visits to the courts of either Sweden or nearby Denmark. In addition, there will be opportunities to socialize both formally and informally with law faculty and members of the Swedish Bar and Judiciary. To enhance the program's global perspective, some classes feature members of the University of Lund Law Faculty co-teaching with American Law Faculty.

Approved by the American Bar Association (ABA), all courses comply with the standards of both the ABA and the Association of American Law Schools. Students must contact their respective law schools regarding residence credits and, where appropriate, converting semester credits to a quarter system. Participation in this or any foreign summer program is unlikely to accelerate graduation. Students should review ABA Standard 304, Interpretation 4, in this regard.

There is ample leisure time throughout the program, however, class attendance is mandatory for all enrolled students, American and international.

GRADING SYSTEM

The grading scale is the same as that regularly applied at Suffolk Law School. Students will be graded on a scale of 0.00 to 4.00 (courses are generally not taught on a pass/fail basis). A Suffolk Law School student's grade will be included as part of his/her G.P.A. Non-Suffolk students should check with their home law school's administration to determine how their summer program grade is treated.
