INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW CERTIFICATE
Jointly Sponsored by Advanced Legal Studies and the Intellectual Property Law Concentration

Suffolk's award-winning Advanced Legal Studies and premiere IP Law Concentration join forces to present a unique educational opportunity. Experienced in providing legal education for busy professionals for 30 years, Advanced Legal Studies creates academically sound and practical conferences and programs. The distinguished IP Law Concentration has graduated lawyers who now practice in every major IP law firm in Boston.

The IP Certificate is issued by Advanced Legal Studies upon completion of 35 hours of course time. This is a non-degree program.

 

Program Goals

Provide an overview of the nuts and bolts of intellectual property law, as well as an understanding of transactions involving intellectual property and the resolution of intellectual property disputes.

Enable participants to become conversant in the language of intellectual property law.

Enable participants to obtain the skills necessary to interact with professionals such as IP attorneys, venture capitalists and others who develop, market and work with intellectual property.

  • Corporate non-IP attorneys
  • Non-IP attorneys in small to medium size law firms
  • Business executives
  • Scientists, engineers, and other individuals who work with technology
  • Paralegals

 

Program Structure

The Certificate Program will consist of several distinct components. In order to earn an IP Certificate, one must attend a minimum of 35 hours of programming. An enrollee in the IP Certificate will have up to three (3) years to complete the required hours. An enrollment fee of $250 is required to enroll in the IP Certificate (this fee is non-refundable). Thereafter, each program will have its own tuition that must be paid. This program will not be open to current law school students or free to faculty and adjuncts.
