Licensing in a Network Environment focuses on the legal, business, and strategic issues in the drafting and negotiation of software licensing agreements. You will gain a clear understanding of how critical terms are negotiated through a mock software licensing negotiation. The mock negotiation will illustrate how experienced lawyers negotiate key terms such as scope, payment options, warranties, disclaimers, proprietary rights, breach, assignment and remedies. You also learn about the latest on the European perspective in licensing software. Topics include a review of key cases and statutory developments such as the recent approval of the Uniform Computer Information Transactions Act (UCITA) on licensing. Participants receive the latest on licensing in cyberspace, e-commerce developments, online contracts and comprehensive course materials.
