How do you, as a trial lawyer, make sure the trier of fact sees the same picture, and comes to the same conclusions, that you did when you looked at the facts of your case? From stage presence, to the sound of your voice, to the structure of your story, this seminar will help you use the tools that professional actors and directors use to paint a clear picture. You’ll learn the most common presentation mistakes advocates make in the courtroom, and the simple changes you can make to lead a jury to one, inevitable ending.
Attend this dynamic seminar and learn practicable techniques which enhance every aspect of your presentation at trial. Participants will gain insight into the messages being sent by their body language, facial expressions, and vocal inflection. You will also acquire solid skills that you can use immediately to help clarify your message.
Attend and Learn:
- How to lead the trier(s) of fact to one, inevitable conclusion
- How to use your body language to clarify your message
- To paint a clear picture that the judge or jury can’t misunderstand
- How to use your vocal inflection and gestures to take control of the story
- To control the visual focus of the courtroom

~ About the Faculty ~ Lisa DeCaro and Leonard Matheo have achieved extraordinary success with thousands of attorneys, giving them the skills and techniques necessary to persuade, rather than simply present an argument. Both are frequent speakers for Bar Association and Trial Association events, and have written articles and columns for various legal journals and publications.
Mr. Matheo & Ms. DeCaro have degrees in Performance and Communications, and have worked for over fifteen years as educators and performers in the entertainment industry. Both have extensive training in voice, movement, staging, and techniques for communicating effectively and passionately with an audience.
Ms. DeCaro and Mr. Matheo are trained professional teachers, communicators, actors, and directors, who are expert at entertaining and captivating audiences, analyzing stories, and making the written word come alive. They have the skills and training to identify and correct aspects of an attorney's presentation of the facts which can contradict or undermine his or her argument. Ms. DeCaro and Mr. Matheo do not simply teach theory, they give attorneys practicable solutions and techniques.
What Prior Registrants Have Said. . . .
"Your program is outstanding... In 21 years of practice I have never before participated in a program that was so helpful to me as a trial attorney… Frankly, it should be a mandatory course in law school… It was exciting to participate in a program that wasn't theoretical, where each participant's weaknesses, strengths and personal style were analyzed and addressed in a helpful, constructive manner… Yours was the most interesting, helpful and exciting program that I have attended. Keep up the good work." ~ J. Patrick Butler, Esq. Tucson, AZ
"People think that just because they went to law school they know how to talk. They don't! They need to learn what you teach them. They need your course, and they should take it!" ~ Judge Donald Campbell (Ret.) 4th Judicial District of Colorado
"A tremendous thank you for the program you put on in Bermuda! Everything I heard from attendees was praise for the program, the contents, and the presenters. As you know, my goal this year is to 'raise the bar.' I only hope we haven't raised it so high… that we cannot meet it again. Once again, kudos and congratulations for a marvelous program." ~ H. Thomas Wells, Jr. Chair, American Bar Association, Section of Litigation
