Helene Blue, President of Helene Blue Musique Ltd., New York City, manages a full-service, independent music publishing company, catering to all aspects of the entertainment industry. In addition to her publishing activities, Helene works with clients such as The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, ABC Television and 101 Productions in obtaining musical publishing and master rights licenses for these production entities. Helene received AIMP’s first Indie Award, “in recognition of her commitment to music publishing and her spirit of generosity toward her colleagues”. Helene also received the Women in Music Touchstone Award, given for Distinguished Service to the Music Industry.
Mark A. Fischer, Principal, Fish & Richardson P.C., Boston, represents creative companies, universities, and people in the worlds of new media, entertainment, publishing, and technology. Mr. Fischer was described in Boston Magazine’s as one of the “best lawyers” and was described as “a trailblazer in the field of new media.” He is coauthor of Perle & Williams on Publishing Law (3rd Edition), published by Aspen Law & Business. Mr. Fischer has served as an adjunct faculty member teaching entertainment law and intellectual property courses at Berklee College of Music, Boston College Law School, Northeastern U. School of Law, and New England School of Law.
Barry I. Slotnick, Partner, Loeb & Loeb, New York is a litigator who also handles significant transactional matters in entertainment and intellectual property. He has litigated numerous copyright infringement, trademark infringement, and contract disputes. Mr. Slotnick’s clients have included the producer of one of America’s most famous and successful television series (including its many related multimedia activities) and one of the world’s largest merchandisers of entertainment products, major record companies, music publishers, independent film, television and theatrical production companies, advertising agencies, entertainers, performing rights societies, and merchandisers.
