ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

As a startup, small business, or new attorney, have you ever had the opportunity to see a startup in action and participate in a process where you could offer recommendations to help a startup avoid mistakes, manage risk and grow the organization? What lessons can you learn from a startup? As a startup or small business, what decisions would you have made if you could start over? As an attorney, how could you have served as the business advisor and guided the startup to a better outcome?

The Starting up a New Business seminar is a half-day, interactive live case analysis, where the audience will observe a client organization, SumoSkinny, LLC, and see the evolution of a startup beginning with the enthusiasm and passion of entrepreneurship, the negative impact of inexperience, and the resilience to start over after learning from their mistakes. Our panel, including our live case, will cover a series of business and legal topics where the audience will have the opportunity to understand the decision-making process of our founders, and the resulting successes and challenges.

Our audience will be able to leverage the lessons learned in their own organizations and law firms, as well as understand the importance of managing the risk of startup and small organizations while providing attorneys with a greater understanding of their own clients.
