INTERNATIONAL LAW CONCENTRATION PROGRAM: COURSES

 

Fall 2008 International Law Concentration Courses

Spring 2009 International Law Concentration Courses

Students are required to take a minimum of eighteen (18) credits in international courses as described below. For complete course descriptions, please visit www.law.suffolk.edu. Please note that not all courses are offered every semester.

 A. Core Courses

Students are required to take six (6) credits of core courses:

International Law 3 credits
AND
International Business Transactions 3 credits
OR
International Trade Law 3 credits


 B. Elective Courses

In addition to the required core courses, students must elect courses totaling twelve (12) credits from the list below or through courses, approved by the Director of the International Concentration, offered in the Summer Law Program held in Sweden or an equivalent academic program. No more than six (6) credits taken at academic programs not run by Suffolk University Law School may be used toward completion of the International Law Concentration.

Arbitration of Domestic and International Disputes 3 credits
Comparative Constitutional Law Seminar 3 credits
Comparative Criminal Procedure 2 credits
Comparative Law 2 credits
Conflict of Laws 3 credits
Directed Study 2 credits
European Union Law 3 credits
Global Issues of Law, Policy and Ethics in the New Technologies 2 credits
Global Science and Technology Transfer

2 credits

Idea of Human Rights 2 credits

Immigration Clinic *    

     * Please note that while students participating in the Immigration Clinic receive 8 course credits, only 4 credits may be applied to the International Law Concentration's elective course requirements.
