State Criminal Practice

2 credits day; 2 credits evening.
This course covers all aspects of a criminal trial, including arrest bail, lower court proceedings, grand jury proceedings, indictment, discovery motions, motions to dismiss, problems during trial, and post-trial motions. The purpose of this course is to familiarize the student with criminal forms and procedures in the District and Superior Courts. Guest lecturers include a District Court Justice, trial attorneys and a probation officer.
Registration for both State Criminal Practice and Federal Criminal Prosecution is prohibited.
