COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

Employment Law Practice
Mr. Michael R. Brown
2 credits day; 2 credits evening.

This seminar will review the issues that confront the labor and employment lawyer practicing in the kaleidoscope of today's numerous laws and regulations. We will examine issues such as the hiring process, wage and hour requirements, workplace violence, employee discipline and termination, dispute resolution and the layoff of employees. Practical exercises such as the writing of advisory memoranda, counseling clients and simulated mediations will occur throughout the course. A short paper on a self-selected subject will also be required in lieu of an exam.



  Prerequisite: Employment Law is a preferred prerequisite, but not required
