INTERNATIONAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (IIP) : ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Students should review their health insurance coverage for their intended stay abroad. As part of their application, students are required to provide a medical emergency contact, and all information about their health, allergies or medications that may be necessary. NOTE: All expenses, such as travel, housing, and living costs, are the applicant's responsibility. Students must carefully calculate their finances before accepting a placement. SULS/CILS and your host firm can assist you in obtaining possible housing options. Our customized internship placements vary year to year, therefore we are unable to prearrange housing accommodations. Hosts may be generous and kind, but an applicant cannot rely on any assistance from a host in advance. SULS and CILS make no claims or affirmations to applicants otherwise. For more housing questions, please contact Alane De Luca, Associate Director at (617) 305-3069. The student recognizes that there may be risks involved on the trip. The nature of the risks may not always be readily ascertainable. Students are advised to monitor political developments that may affect their internship. Please review travel advisories at http://travel.state.gov/travel/index.html before and throughout your stay abroad. Suffolk University is not prepared to analyze or make judgments of these risks for the student, nor is Suffolk University financially able to assume liability or legal responsibility for any damages suffered by a student arising out of any activities on the trip. In addition, the University's general liability policy covers only employees of the University and does not extend to students. Therefore, students are wholly responsible for their own actions. The University will not provide coverage for any damage they may cause to others. Upon acceptance of an international internship, students will also receive membership to Suffolk Law School's International Health Assistance Program.
WORK VISA INFORMATION Participants are expected to contact their host firms once a placement has been accepted to verify if there are any special work visa documents to be completed by the firm or the participant. Generally, U.S. passport holders may enter as a tourist. Participants not holding a U.S. passport are especially encouraged to contact their host firm and local embassy or consulate for work visa information.
