Professor Riskin will
lecture on Defining the Problem: Court
Ordered Mediation.
Professor Riskin has written several books
and numerous articles on alternative
dispute resolution, articles on law and
medicine and torts, and essays for popular
magazines. In recent years, he has written
about the benefits of mindfulness
meditation for lawyers and mediators. He
has conducted mediation training for many
law firms, law schools, and government
organizations across the U.S. and in Europe
and Asia.
He also has been chair of the sections on
Law and Medicine and Dispute Resolution of
the Association of American Law Schools.
Since 2002, he has served as Director of
the Initiative on Mindfulness in Law and
Dispute Resolution, He teaches Lawyering:
Problem-Solving and Dispute Resolution,
Understanding Conflict, Negotiation,
Mediation, and LL.M. Major Research
Project.
