Lecture by Distinguished Visiting Prof. Martha Chamallas of the Moritz College of Law at Ohio State University

On Thursday, April 5th at 4:00 PM Professor Chamallas will be speaking to students and faculty in the McLaughlin Moot Court Room. Her talk is entitled: "Civil Rights and Civil Wrongs: Race, Gender and Tort Law."

Professor Chamallas has held the Robert J. Lynn Chair in Law at the Moritz College of Law at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio since 2002. Prior to teaching at the Moritz College of Law, Professor Chamallas taught at the University of Richmond School of Law, Washington University School of Law, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Professor Chamallas is a nationally known scholar who has written books and articles and lectured in the areas of Torts, Employment Discrimination, and Feminist Legal Theory. Her most recent article deals with tort issues of personal injury damages arising out of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Professor Chamallas is a member of the American Law Institute and has served on numerous court-appointed committees. She has written Final Reports on racial and gender bias for the Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania and Tennessee.
