Nancy R. Rice


 S H O R T   B I O G R A P H Y

Attorney Nancy R. Rice specializes in health law and was a partner at Ropes & Gray, LLP from 1986- 2003. She is currently Of Counsel to the firm. Ms. Rice’s practice focused on issues of patient choice, privacy of personal information, corporate compliance, research ethics and regulation, and general counsel services to academically-affiliated hospitals and physician practice organizations. Ms. Rice has published on the topics of informed consent, orders not to resuscitate, electronic medical records, research regulation, and availability of insurance for patients enrolled in clinical trials. Ms. Rice received a B.A. magna cum laude from Smith College, M.A. in history from Bryn Mawr, and her J.D. with distinction from Emory University Law School. Ms. Rice has taught courses on Medical Research and Personal Privacy at Boston University Law School.
