Hon. Edward M. Ginsburg (Ret.)


 S H O R T   B I O G R A P H Y

Edward M. Ginsburg was an Associate Justice of the Probate and Family Court from 1977 until his retirement in 2002. He is the founder and director of Senior Partners for Justice an organization of over nine hundred lawyers who provide pro bono legal services to low income individuals in the Probate and Family Court and other forums. In addition to being an adjunct Professor at both Suffolk and Boston College Law Schools, he is a supervising attorney at Community Legal Aid which serves Central and Western Mass. Judge Ginsburg is a member of the Mental Health Legal Advisors Committee, the board of editors of Lawyers Weekly and the Massachusetts Family Law Journal. He has received numerous awards, including the Charles P. Kindregan Award, Suffolk Advanced Education, the Scholar-Mentor Award from Mass. Continuing Legal Education, the Adams Pro Bono Public Award, Judicial Excellence Awards from both the Mass. Judges Conference and the Mass Bar Association and Bostonian of the Year Award, Boston Globe Magazine 2005. Judge Ginsburg is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
