EXAMINATION RESCHEDULE REQUEST
Students who are unable to sit for an examination due to illness, death in family, etc, must contact the Dean of Students at 617-573-8157. Students may not contact the Faculty member.
Students having 3 examinations within a 48 hour period may file an Examination Reschedule Request form to reschedule one of the examinations. Each examination period examination schedule will reflect a number of make up dates. Rescheduled examinations will be scheduled on the closest make up date to the missed examination. Reschedule forms should be submitted no later than 30 days prior to the beginning of the exam period.
- Any student who has three examinations scheduled in 48 hours (excludes take home examinations) may request that one be rescheduled. Such requests are handled by the Assistant Dean/Registrar. It is expected that students will sit for all examinations as scheduled. Examinations are rescheduled by the Dean of Students Office only in extremely limited circumstances, such as requests that relate to the health of the student, or close family member, or death of a family member. Any rescheduled examination will be administered on a date no earlier than the date originally set. Tentative examination schedules are available to students at the time of course pre-registration. Students are therefore expected to have reviewed and considered the examination schedule for all courses in which they enroll.
- The general policy is that exams will not be postponed for situations occurring during the semester that cause a student to lose study time. If a student experiences such a situation, he or she is encouraged to meet, as soon as possible, with the Dean of Students to discuss what options are available to the student. If properly documented, these options may include a Leave of Absence or reduction or course load. Students experiencing such situations during the semester should notify the Dean of Students, in writing, no later that the commencement of the exam period for the semester or session in which the situation occurred.
