GIVING TO SUFFOLK UNIVERSITY
LAW SCHOOL
Since its founding nearly 100 years ago, Suffolk University Law School has depended on the generosity
of its alumni and friends. Their support has enabled the Law School to fulfill its mission to educate
highly skilled, ethical lawyers with a commitment to public service and to make a high quality legal
education available to talented men and women regardless of their background or circumstances.
Tuition and fees cover just a portion of the true cost of a Suffolk education. To fund the rest, we
must seek grants from corporations, foundations and public agencies, and gifts from individuals. Our
alumni and friends are by far our most important sources of support.
Through their generosity, Suffolk Law School has grown into one of the largest law schools in the
nation, with thriving day and evening divisions. We have developed an exciting curriculum featuring
five specialized concentrations. We have established eight clinical programs that provide students
with essential real-world experience and also provide valuable services to our community. We have
built the impressive David J. Sargent Hall, with its state-of-the-art classrooms and library. More
than 80 percent of our students receive some form of financial aid. And our faculty members are
increasingly recognized for their research and professional activities.
As we prepare for Suffolk’s Centennial and the challenges of educating future generations of lawyers,
we will continue to depend on the generosity and commitment of our alumni and friends.

"I received a Dean’s scholarship in my second year. That financial assistance enabled me to finish law school. We know our family has been successful and wonderfully blessed, in part because someone before me supported a scholarship fund. We believe if you benefit from such a kindness, you have the responsibility to give back. And this is our way of passing it on."

Foods and Centennial Scholarship donor. |
