APALSA strives to meet the academic, professional and social needs of its members through programs and events promoting social interaction, awareness of Asian Pacific issues and opportunities for success in school and professionally.

Suffolk APALSA is a chapter of NAPALSA, the National Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, which was founded to promote education, leadership, community awareness, communication, and interaction amongst the various Asian Pacific American law students across the country.

APALSA provides a forum for students to come together in three general areas: Academics, Career Development, and Community Outreach.

Past Programs and Events Include:

  • Mentor Program: Pairing first year law students with upper level students to give invaluable advice about surviving the first year, succeeding in law school and balancing school, work and a social life at the same time.
  • Social Events: Potluck, Outings to local restaurants/bars, Dim sum, Movies, etc.
  • Intra-APALSA Events With Area Law Schol Chapters: 10 course dinner, Conferences, etc.
  • Annual Lunar New Year Celebration: Celebrating diversity on campus through education
  • Alumni Outreach: Annual Alumni Reception, Networking and Mentoring opportunities, etc.
  • Networking: Developing relationships with area law firms and legal organizations, etc.
  • Panels: Academic panels on exams, Class selection, Exploring various legal specialties, etc.
  • Community Service: Voter Protection Project
