MISSION STATEMENT

To articulate and promote the academic and professional needs and goals of black law students at Suffolk University Law School (hereinafter, "Suffolk") foster and encourage professional competence; focus upon, with the objective of furthering the relationship of the black law student to Suffolk, the American legal system, and the black community; to provide assistance, including information, to black law students and black applicants to Suffolk in order to enhance the prospects for black success at Suffolk and in the profession; develop the means and programs to bring about meaningful changes in our legal training that bear upon the concerns, legal and non-legal, of the black community; instill a greater awareness in the black attorney and black law student of the needs of the black community and encourage the membership to commit resources to respond effectively to those needs; influence Suffolk to use its considerable resources to bring about changes which will make it more responsive to the needs of the membership, the black community and society in general.
