ADOBE ACROBAT

Adobe Acobat allows you to read documents created in “.pdf” (portable document format) format. Many documents on the web generally and on our law school website are created in pdf because they are difficult to modify and because they can be read as the author has formatted them.

Installing Adobe Acrobat

Adobe Acrobat can be downloaded without charge from the Adobe website. To do so, start Internet Explorer and type in the Adobe URL: www.adobe.com. Click on the graphic to Get the Adobe Reader (Figure 1).

You will be taken to a web page (Figure 2) that will ask for your language (English), your platform (Windows XP), your connection speed (broadband). Check the box to download the full version of the Adobe Reader. Click the download box.

Save the download file in the “My Downloads” folder on your hard disk (Figure 3). After you have saved it on your hard drive you should open it (Figure 5) and the software will begin installing Acrobat on your hard drive.
