Let’s assume that you are not sure if Symantec has updated the
virus definition files properly or you receive a warning and want
to be sure you have the latest virus definition files. The best
way to do this is to manually update the virus definition files.
To manually update the virus definition files, click on the Symantec
yellow mouse in the system tray and then click on LiveUpdate (Figure
1). You will get the Virus Protection Update screen. Be sure you
are updating to the Internet and click next (Figure 9). Symantec
will check you computer and update as necessary. If new virus definition
files are available they will be downloaded to your computer (Figure
10). You will get the completion screen (Figure 11) when the process
is done.
