WIRELESS ACCESS

1. Wireless access is available on all floors in Sargent Hall except the
2nd and 3rd floors.
To access the wireless network, you must have a wireless card installed.
We recommend an Intel card.

All laptops must be scanned for viruses and obtain a certification
sticker from Computer Services (6th floor, room 655) before connecting
to the Sargent Hall Wireless network.

Authentication
When connecting to a webpage you will be rerouted to an authentication page.

Authenticate using your official Suffolk email address and password. Student email addresses follow the following format:

New Students and second year students

First initial, middle initial and last name

Third and Forth year students:

First three letters of last name followed by the first 5 digits of your suffolk ID.

For Visitors (ie: conference attendees, ALS attendees, etc)

To ensure the reliability of the Sargent Hall network, Computer Services
requires all visitors to obtain a laptop certification sticker, before
connecting their laptop to the wireless network.
To obtain the certification sticker you must
1) Have an antivirus program installed with the most updated definition
files

2) Run a clean antivirus scan within a week of certification

3) Install all Windows critical updates and services packs

4) Optional: Install and update a Spyware program

5) Stop by Computer Services and fill out a certification form

To schedule a time to obtain your sticker call Computer Services at 617
573-8352 or email computinglaw@suffolk.edu.

Once your laptop has been certified, a username and password to the
wireless network will be received. Requests for wireless access should
be made 3 days in advance.
