CHARTING A COURSE FOR SUCCESS : RESOURCES/REFERENCE MATERIAL

Resources

The Career Development Office has a number of resources and services to aid students and graduates in their job searches. The following services are available:

www.law.suffolk.edu/offices/career:   The Career Development Office website includes information on the office, services available to students/graduates, job postings, an Alumni Career Network, calendar of events, links to other web sites, and a selection of handouts.

Alumni Career Network:   The Alumni Career Network is a group of Suffolk Law graduates who have agreed to talk with current students and other graduates about legal careers. They are working in a variety of specialty areas within the legal profession. These alumni are an excellent resource to use to learn more about different legal opportunities. This information can be accessed on our website with the monthly job posting password.

Spotlight: Spotlight is the student newsletter published weekly (Thursday afternoons) by the Career Development Office. It contains information on various workshops and seminars being held; new materials received on fellowships, internships, and job postings; details about upcoming job fairs and recruitment programs; and all other information relevant to job search and career development.   Stop by the office to pick up a copy or view it on our website.

Computers:   Computers are available in the Career Development Library for student use.   You can access Lexis, Westlaw, word processing, the internet, and PSLawNet.

Typewriters:   A typewriter is also available in the Career Development Library. It can be used for envelopes, completing applications and typing short cover letters.
