| Counseling Appointments |
| |
|
Six full and part-time counselors are available to take individual student appointments. Assistance with resumes, cover letters and interviewing skills, as well as advice on negotiating salaries and benefits and assessing job offers, is available.
Self assessment services are also available. The more you understand about yourself, the better able you will be to make satisfying career choices and conduct a successful job search. A thorough self-assessment should involve a careful consideration of your skills, interests, values and an appreciation for how your personality may match with key aspects of a particular job. One step in matching personality to a job is to evaluate your personality type. The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), available through the Career Development Office, is a reliable personality assessment instrument which provides students/graduates with a framework for understanding their individual personality type.
You may schedule an appointment online or contact the CDO at 617-573-8148.

Students and graduates may request a letter of reciprocity which will allow them to use the Career Services Office at another ABA-accredited law school (subject to the other school's reciprocity policy). You can view the reciprocity policies of other law schools on NALP's website. Please request a letter from our office at least two weeks before you expect to be visiting the area.
Students from other schools may use our Career Development Office subject to Suffolk's reciprocity policy as follows:
- Services are available to students and graduates in good standing of ABA-accredited law schools which allow Suffolk University Law School students and/or graduates to use their facilities.
- All requests for services must be made in writing or by email by a career services representative in advance of the student's/graduate's visit.
- The services will be available to a student/graduate for a three-month period. Extensions beyond the three-month time frame must also be made in writing.
- Requests for reciprocity will not be honored during the fall recruiting season, which runs from August 1st through November 15th.
- Online viewing of job postings through individual login will be granted for a period of three months.
