The fall program will be taught by attorney Walter McLaughlin. Mr. Laughlin has been a member of our adjunct faculty and for many years he operated the SMH bar review course. The fall course will focus exclusively on the Multistate Bar Examination (MBE), a 200-question multiple choice examination that is required in every state except Louisiana and Washington. The subjects covered on the MBE are Constitutional Law, Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts.
- Students who intend to sit for the February bar examination, whether in Massachusetts or in another state, If you intend to take the Massachusetts examination, Mr. McLaughlin will also make available to you lectures that he has previously recorded on the Massachusetts essay topics.
- Students who intend to sit for the July bar examination in a state other than Massachusetts (in order to obtain a full semester's worth of preparation for the MBE portion of the examination in the other state).
Students who do not fit in any of the above categories should take either of the two courses that the law school offers during the spring semester.

During the spring, students are offered a choice of taking either a program to be run by Mr. McLaughlin or by attorney Alfred M. Zappala from Multistate Tutorial Services, Inc. Both Mr. McLaughlin and Mr. Zappala have run similar programs very successfully at Suffolk Law School in past years.
The spring courses will review both the MBE as well as topics that are tested on the Massachusetts essay examination.
