Graphics can really slow down how fast a page loads. If you have
a lot of graphics on your pages you can substantially increase their
load time by either cropping your pictures; and not saving any B&W
jpgs with "millions of colors." There are some online utilities that
can shrink your gif's 75% to 90%. More information about the jpg
format can be found the site maintied by the Joint Photographic Experts Group.
