About the Consumer Law Public Service Fellowship: |
|
The Consumer Law Public Service Fellowship will be awarded to a Suffolk
Law student who demonstrates an interest in and commitment to issues of consumer
law, rights and protection. The individual chosen will be paid a $7,000
stipend for a ten-week, fulltime, summer position in a Massachusetts governmental
office or nonprofit agency engaged in consumer protection work. While it
is not necessary to secure an internship prior to applying for the Consumer Law
Public Service Fellowship, the award will be contingent on obtaining a placement
with an eligible employer. The Consumer Law Fellow may secure his/her placement
independently or with the assistance of the Rappaport Center.

Applicant Eligibility: |
|
All Suffolk Law students in good academic standing who are not in their
final semester are eligible to apply.
|

|
Award Selection Criteria: |
|
Considerations which will influence selection of the Consumer Law Fellow
include the following:
- Demonstrated interest in and commitment to working in the field of consumer
law, rights and protection;
- Demonstrated commitment to public service as shown by past paid and volunteer
work experiences and extracurricular activities; and
- Academic achievement.
